WHAT IS A LUCAS CPR DEVICE?
The LUCAS device is an easy-to-use mechanical chest compression device that provides benefits to cardiac arrest patients by delivering guideline-consistent, high-quality chest compressions even under difficult conditions and for extended periods of time. The device allows the EMS team to work more efficiently without having to compromise their own safety.

What is ROSC?
ROSC, or Return of Spontaneous Circulation, is the end goal of successful CPR. Essentially, ROSC is the return of a heart rhythm that is capable of sustaining life following a cardiac arrest. When our crews achieve ROSC and are able to transport a patient who was in cardiac arrest to a hospital, it is colloquially referred to as a "save."
What is our fundraising goal?
In order to stock both of our units with a LUCAS device, TVAC is hoping to reach a goal of $40,000 through fundraising efforts, grants, and other private donations. Any donations collected in excess of that goal will be used to purchase other cutting-edge lifesaving equipment.

How can I purchase fundraiser merchandise?
Fundraiser T-Shirts ($25) and TVAC pint glasses ($15) will be available for purchase at the event. If you are unable to attend but would still like to purchase merchandise or would like to preorder, please email captain@tarrytownvac.org.
